LAKE COUNTY, Tenn. — A Tennessee man accused of killing four people and abandoning a baby in a case that sparked a statewide manhunt will be moved to a state prison ahead of his trial due to his behavior in jail.
Austin Drummond was in court because the Obion County Sheriff's Office says it is unable to keep him housed due to repeated disruptions. He is also accused of possessing drugs in jail.
Drummond has been housed in the county jail since early August.
"The main issue today was whether Mr. Drummond is going to continue to be housed locally while he is awaiting his future trials, the two trials that he has with me and the two trials he has in his capitol case," said Attorney Drew Farmer, representing Austin Drummond.
The state called Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson as a witness.
