Brigitte Macron’s personal tax records have been hacked and altered to identify her as male, according to her chief of staff.
In an interview with French news channel BFMTV, Tristan Bromet revealed that hackers changed the first lady of France’s name in the government system to “Jean-Michel, known as Brigitte Macron,” in reference to a long-running conspiracy theory that she was born male.
According to the theory, Macron’s maiden name, Trogneux, belonged to a male identity.
Bromet said Macron, who has been married to French president Emmanuel for 18 years and has three children, was “completely surprised” to discover the change when she logged into her account.
