An easyJet flight to Manchester Airport was forced to divert last night due to an 'urgent' issue onboard.

The flight took off from Copenhagen as planned at around 10pm on Monday evening (October 27).

The aircraft was due to land back in Manchester at around 10.45pm UK time.

However, due to a passenger 'requiring urgent medical attention', the plane was diverted to Newcastle Airport instead.

Emergency services met the flight there and the passenger was taken into their care.

The flight then continued onto Manchester, a spokesperson for easyJet said.
