GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The western slope is waking up to some incredibly chilly conditions. Freeze warnings are in effect until 9 a.m. where a freeze watch will then take over for tonight as well. Temperatures are expected to ride the frosting line of 32 degrees, with the highs of the day only getting into the mid-fifties. This is about a 10 to 15 degree drop in temperature for some areas of western Colorado. Wind speeds have significantly reduced for today’s forecast. Breezy northerly winds and temperatures around 10 degrees below climatology will keep things brisk today. Freezing temperatures return to our low valleys Wednesday morning. Freeze watches are in place for a few spots without hard freezes yet. Temperatures begin to recover Wednesday and beyond thanks to high pressure
