LOUISVILLE, Ky. — According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data, Kentucky has had the highest rate of teen driving deaths in the U.S. for four straight years.

For years, Sadie Hogg worked in the emergency room at Norton’s Children’s Hospital.

“I used to work bedside," Hogg said. "I was a child-life specialist ... in the emergency room and then in the pediatric intensive care unit."

"I got really tired of seeing kids come to the hospital for things that we can prevent. I got tired of seeing kids come in from things like distracted driving and it impacting them so young.”

According to recently compiled NHTSA data by Zutobi, a for-profit driver education company, for every 100,000 teenage drivers, there are more than 114 deaths in Kentucky.
