After two days of cool, largely dry weather, Massachusetts is set to see heavy rain and gusting winds beginning Thursday.
Both Tuesday and Wednesday should bring temperatures slightly below normal for late October, with highs in the low 50s during the day.
On Thursday, most parts of the state can expect between 1 and 3 inches of rainfall, with a “worst-case scenario” of 2 to 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
“There is a low probability of more significant flooding ... but currently thinking this will be more of the typical brief nuisance street flooding," forecasters wrote.
The system appears to be progressive, meaning the Bay State shouldn’t see extended heavy rain.
As a result, conditions should dry out by Halloween on Friday.
