TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—Voters who live in District 5 can now vote in the City of Tampa Special Municipal runoff election.

Polling places opened at 7 a.m. and will close after the last person in line at 7 p.m. has voted.

Voters who live in the City of Tampa District 5 can vote in this election, which includes 28 precincts.

Two candidates are competing to fill the open city council seat that was vacated after the death of Councilwoman Gwendolyn Henderson.

Thomas Scott, a pastor of a church, is hoping to return to a post he once held.

Naya Young works for a non-profit helping students in District 5. She is new to the political arena.

Results will be reported online after the polls close.
