AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Tuesday morning, Chef Ron from Sunday’s Kitchen prepared Jalapeño Popper Soup and Grilled Cheese for the Today in Amarillo crew.

Jalapeño Popper Soup and Grilled Cheese: • 1lb cooked Italian sausage • 1 small onion, finely diced • 4-5 fresh jalapeños, diced (seeds removed and boiled for less heat) • 3 cloves garlic, minced • 4 cups chicken broth • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened and cubed • 1 cup heavy cream • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika • Salt and pepper, to taste • 2 tablespoons fresh chives or green onions
For the Grilled Cheese Dippers: • 8 slices of bread (sourdough or your favorite) • 2 cups shredded cheddar or a cheese blend • 4 tablespoons butter,
