Early in the second quarter of Monday night's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes hit tight end Travis Kelce in the hands for what should've been a standard short completion near midfield.
However, Kelce was unable to secure the ball before Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner caught it off the deflection for an easy interception. That moment proved to be little more than a blip on the radar, as Kelce tallied a team-best 99 receiving yards with a touchdown in what became a sloppy 28-7 win that improved the Chiefs to 5-3 on the season. Following the victory, Kelce talked about how he and his teammates bounced back from early miscues with the score tied at 7-7 during the halftime break.
