Eden , one of the most talked-about flops of the summer, is now getting the post-theatrical success it hoped for. Starring Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law, and Daniel Brühl, the period thriller is a version of true events, following European settlers of an uninhabited island in the Galápagos, who gradually turned on each other, resulting in multiple deaths.

Law and Kirby portray Dr. Friedrich Ritter and Dore Strauch, the couple who first arrived on Floreana Island, supposedly escaping corrupt modern civilization. Ritter's writings sent back to Europe then inspired the well-meaning Wittmer family (Sweeney and Brühl) to do the same. However, things are truly upended when an ambitious Baroness (de Armas) arrives with plans to build a hotel.
