The Creative Diversity Network (CDN) will research and prototype a new system that collates diversity data for the UK’s film production sector under a new, two-year BFI -funded project.
The CDN will work alongside BAFTA Media Technology on the project, which they said will be “designed to collect data which is interoperable across existing film industry systems and embed advanced privacy measures, paving the way to safe and secure access to the data needed to understand the workforce.”
The CDN received £200,000 from the BFI National Lottery Innovation Challenge Fund for the project. The Challenge Fund also awarded £30,000 to the University of Glasgow’s Design Otherwise CIC spin-off outfit to review existing systems and criteria for diversity data collection.
