'The most saturated it's going to be': Heavy construction in Omaha's urban core

OMAHA, Neb. —

Downtown Omaha, Blackstone and Midtown are all covered in construction.

Austin Rowser with Omaha Public Works says the majority of these rampant renovations are for the streetcar project.

"The streetcar and its related projects are the huge portions the city's running right now," Rowser said.

Mixed in with all that work, there's development work happening, like the Mutual of Omaha Tower , work at the riverfront and the sinkhole fix on 16th Street .

"There's a tremendous amount of disruption out there with those projects. We understand that that's very inconvenient for the public," Rowser said.
