Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has cancelled 61 trains, rescheduled nine, diverted six and short-terminated nine in view of the approaching Cyclone ‘Montha’.
In a statement on Tuesday, ECoR said effective steps are being taken to ensure utmost safety of passengers and train operations. ADVERTISEMENT
While four trains were cancelled on October 27, 48 trains have been cancelled on October 28, eight trains on October 29 and one train on October 30.
Some of the important trains cancelled are 07166, Bhubaneswar New-Hyderabad Special on October 29, 17479, Puri-Tirupati on October 30 and 18464 Bengaluru-Bhubaneswar Prashanti Express on October 29.
Railway officials are closely monitoring the evolving weather conditions in coordination with IMD and Disaster Management authorities.
