Stephen Robinson is confident that St Mirren’s results will turn as they prepare to host William Hill Premiership leaders Hearts on Wednesday night.

The Buddies boss was left frustrated after the 3-1 defeat away to Dundee United at the weekend where defender Alex Gogic was sent off for a late tackle on Nikolaj Moeller to concede a converted penalty.

It was a third-successive defeat following losses to Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

The Paisley side, who finished sixth last season, are currently ninth in the table and sit 16 points behind the Jambos but the Northern Irishman is taking encouragement from performance levels.
