OMAHA, Neb. —

Some of the tiniest Nebraska patients celebrated their first Halloween at Nebraska Medicine.

Each year, nurses at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit choose a theme for the infants' Halloween costumes. This year, they selected "Storytime in the NICU." Nebraska Medicine says the team spent weeks creating the costumes.

Popular children's books featured in this year's theme include "Where the Wild Things Are," "Charlotte's Web" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Nurses also donated money this year so each baby could receive a copy of the book that inspired their costume.
