The Chet Zablocki Recreation Center in Toledo’s Polish Village neighborhood was again a busy place Monday when at least 100 people showed up at the former senior activities hub to brainstorm about its future use.
“It is good to see that there are this many people who are active in the community,” said the Rev. Leo Cunningham, lead pastor at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
“It disrupts the stereotype that people in the North End aren’t concerned about the community,” he said. “It’s a first step in realizing what could be, as opposed to spending time focused on what once was.”
