PARAGON, Ind. (Gray News) – A new mom of twins was tragically killed in a car crash just five days after giving birth, according to multiple sources.

The crash happened Saturday night on State Road 67 near Paragon, Indiana, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office .

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Cheyenne Sears, according to WXIN .

The sheriff’s office said a Pontiac traveling in the opposite direction as Sears struck a deer. The impact threw the deer into oncoming traffic, crashing through the windshield of the Chevy Blazer that Sears was a passenger in.

Sears was killed in the crash. The 55-year-old driver of the Chevy was airlifted to the hospital. A child in the back seat was taken to a children’s hospital.
