Arunachal Government has handed over the investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation and suicide of 19-year-old youth Gomchu Yekar to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch of Arunachal Police.

Gomchu in his suicide note had accused IAS officer and former Itanagar DC Talo Potom and senior Rural Works Department (RWD) engineer Likwang Lowang of sexually abusing him, intimidating and mentally harassing him. He had also mentioned that he contracted HIV because of Lowang who shot himself dead soon after Gomchu committed suicide and his suicide note went viral.
