In a significant late-night development on Monday, Chief Minister Saha met Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma.
As tensions continue to mount within Tripura’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and between its ally Tipra Motha, the BJP’s North East Coordinator and MP Dr Sambit Patra arrived in Agartala on Tuesday for a crucial round of consultations.
Patra’s sudden visit comes at a time when the state unit of the BJP is grappling with internal divisions, and the party’s organizational leadership remains in limbo — with the term of the incumbent president, Rajib Bhattacharjee, having expired months ago but no replacement yet announced.
