A woman whose dog was so weak and ill it eventually had to be put down has been banned from keeping dogs for five years after failing to seek treatment for her.

The RSPCA visited the Wythenshawe home of 41 year-old Zoe Marlow in August 2023 after a tip-off about a dog at the property that was 'struggling to stand up.'

When officers attended, the 15 year-old brindle and white female Staffie, called Laney wasn't there.

Marlow said she had 'run away' and that the person who found her had taken her to a vets.
