CONWAY, Ark. — The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) will welcome writer Bessie Flores Zaldívar for a two-day residency on November 6-7.

The residency will feature conversations about Zaldívar's debut publication, “Libertad,” a coming-of-age story set during the 2017 Honduran elections, with students from UCA’s creative writing, gender studies, and Spanish programs.

Zaldívar will also lead a masterclass for students pursuing an MFA in creative writing and attend an interview with the editors of UCA’s national online literary magazine Arkana.

On Friday, November 7, the public is invited to attend a special free reading, keynote address, and book signing at the C.D. Wright Writers Conference in McCastlain Hall at 6 p.m.
