The Bixby Animal Rescue Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving abandoned and unclaimed pets in Bixby, is hoping to find a loving home for Hannah, a playful Shepherd mix who has spent almost three years waiting to be adopted.

Founded in 2017, the rescue known as BARN works to rehabilitate and rehome dogs and cats impounded by police or animal control. Since its start, BARN has helped more than 180 animals find forever homes and transported another 80 to rescue partners out of state.

Dr. Cari McDonald, the original founder and resident veterinarian, says the organization was built to give local animals a second chance. “We take in dogs and cats that were never claimed animals who might otherwise have no place to go,” McDonald said.
