COLUMBUS, Ohio — Firefighters are battling a fire at a southeast Columbus scrapyard on Tuesday. The fire is producing large plumes of smoke that can be seen for miles.
Crews with the Columbus Division of Fire were called to Columbus Auto Shredding, located at 2181 Alum Creek Drive, around 12:15 p.m.

Columbus Fire Lt. Nick Davis said a pile of recycled material is on fire and crews are working to extinguish the fire.
In September 2024, fire crews spent days extinguishing a fire at the same scrapyard. Crews had issues putting out pockets of the fire as it would flare back up.
