LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As the government shutdown continues with no sign of resolving before November, thousands of Arkansans who rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits could be affected.

Last week, the Arkansas Department of Human Services released a statement warning of potential delays or disruptions to the program starting November 1, including the disallowance of purchases and delays in processing applications or renewals.

With SNAP benefits likely unavailable in November and other impacted by the government shutdown, food banks and pantries across the state are doing their best to help people in need.
