Scott Van Pelt could be on the move at ESPN.
Van Pelt, now the star host of the 11 p.m. SportsCenter, is a candidate to move his show to the 5 p.m. time slot which had been occupied by “Around the Horn,“ according to a report from The Athletic ‘s Andrew Marchand . ESPN executive Burke Magnus confirmed the talks.
NFL analyst Peter Schrager and NBA Insider Brian Windhorst are also candidates for the 5 o’clock slot, per Marchand.
Van Pelt could have already been in the 5 p.m. slot had Magnus gotten his way.
He wanted to pair Van Pelt with his old ESPN radio buddy Ryen Russillo on a new-look SportsCenter.
