IKEA has dozens of locations across the country – but, so far, none in North Dakota.
That hasn't stopped residents from asking, though. A survey by MarketBeat, a financial media company, shows the furniture store chain is the brand North Dakota residents would most like to see open in their state. The results of the survey are based on responses from more than 3,000 people across the country.
IKEA, founded in Sweden in 1943, sells a range of ready-to-assemble furniture and other home goods. It has expanded in the U.S. in recent years – it has already opened five locations this year, with plans for six more before the end of 2025, USA TODAY reported in May.
In addition to North Dakota, only one other state's residents chose IKEA as their most wanted brand: South Carolina.
