NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As the federal government shutdown continues, concerns are growing over potential furloughs among state workers whose positions are funded by federal dollars.

Gov. Jeff Landry said Tuesday that some positions funded by federal dollars could be furloughed because of the federal government shutdown.

“Our focus is on protecting critical programs for the elderly, children, and individuals with disabilities, so they continue without interruption,” Landry said in a statement.
