BEAUREGARD PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A Crowley man is jailed in Beauregard Parish after allegedly threatening to have someone killed.
The threats were made via text messages, according to the initial report from the sheriff’s office.
The alleged victim called authorities to report threatening messages sent by Michael Ainsworth, 22, of Crowley, on Oct. 23.
Detectives said the messages reportedly sent by Ainsworth indicated he knew people who would kill for money.
“Cause I know people who will kill you,” one text message read, according to the police report. “All I got is paying $500 right now.”
The series of messages detailed by investigators even went as far as naming the would-be hitman.
