Dehradun–Tanakpur Express will now operate three days a week in Uttarakhand. The Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in an approval letter on Tuesday. Dhami had requested the minister to increase the train’s frequency. The Ministry of Railways approved the proposal to raise the frequency of train number 15019/15020 from weekly to tri-weekly. The change aims to provide better rail connectivity between Dehradun and the Kumaon region. Dhami said that the decision will benefit residents, students, tourists and business travellers.
