PARAGON, Ind. (WXIN) — A young mother in Indiana was killed on Saturday after an oncoming car struck a deer, sending it flying through her windshield.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office, in a Facebook post, reported that the deadly accident occurred on State Road 67 near Paragon.
The sheriff's office said the driver of a Pontiac struck the deer while traveling northbound on the road. The impact threw the deer into the southbound lanes, where it struck the windshield of a Chevy Blazer.
Cheyenne Sears, 25, of Spencer, Indiana, was a passenger in the Blazer. She was killed in the collision, the sheriff's department said.
The 55-year-old driver of the Blazer was airlifted to a hospital, and a juvenile passenger in the rear seat was also transported to a nearby children's hospital.
