Srinagar, Oct 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday disclosed a significant regional imbalance in the issuance of category certificates used to avail reservation benefits, marking the second such revelation this year.

The official data revealed in response to a question of MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman, shows that the majority of certificates across various reserved categories over the past two years were issued in the Jammu region, with Kashmir receiving a smaller share.

The data presented in the House highlighted that Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections, Actual Line of Control, and other category certificates were predominantly issued in Jammu.
