Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says this week's ASEAN summit — and Donald Trump's presence — has helped ease the economic uncertainty besetting the region since the US president announced his tariff war in April.
Mr Trump's presence and the clarity in terms of the trade agreements that were signed mean "at least there are clear policy prescriptions that people understand and I think that's given some boost that you can see in the currency and the markets", he said.
