ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) -The husband of Georgia’s director of the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) has been arrested on charges of hit and run, driving under the influence and child endangerment.
Copies of Georgia State Patrol (GSP) documents detail the arrest of Jason Broce, husband to Candice Broce, who was appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp in 2021.
On Oct. 16, GSP received a report of a two-vehicle accident on GA-3 near Felton Road in Bartow County around 5:05 p.m. Minutes later, troopers were advised one of the vehicles was leaving the scene and “the driver of the fleeing vehicle was possibly impaired,” the GSP incident report said. The vehicle was described as a Ford F-150 traveling north, according to the accident report.
GSP said it observed a white Ford truck
