Michigan and head coach Sherrone Moore have withdrawn their appeals to the NCAA's ruling in an infraction case stemming from the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal.

"After careful consideration of the prolonged impact of an appeal on Michigan and our student athletes, we have withdrawn our appeal of the NCAA's infractions decision and penalties," the university said in a statement Monday night, per ESPN.

The sign-stealing in question was allegedly carried out in 2021 and 2022 by Stalions, then a member of the staff at Michigan. Stalions faces an eight-year show-cause for his role in the scheme, while former coach and current head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, Jim Harbaugh, faces a 10-year show-cause in college football.

Both the Wolverines and Moore himself were penalized by the NCAA, with the school facing up to $30 million in fines but not being forced to vacate any wins or titles, while also not facing a postseason ban of any kind. Moore received a show-cause that will result in a three-game suspension over two years.

Moore served the first two games of his suspension earlier this season and will miss next season's opener.

The NCAA ruled against Michigan in August, with both Moore and the university stating they would appeal the ruling. Moore withdrew his appeal at the end of September, while the university followed suit on Oct. 6, according to the NCAA Division I Infractions Dashboard.

The sign-stealing incident overshadowed much of Michigan's run to a national title in 2023, and though the school protested its innocence at the time, it seems that saga is now behind us with the Wolverines officially accepting the NCAA's ruling.
