(NewsNation) — Country singer Spencer Hatcher, a rising star in the industry, announced his debut EP months after his mother was murdered.
Hatcher will release “Honky Tonk Hideaway” on Nov. 7, according to a press release.
The six-track EP will feature his upcoming radio single, "When She Calls Me Cowboy.”
Hatcher’s release comes after his mother, Holly Hatcher, was stabbed to death by Kevin Moses Walker in what was considered a random home invasion Aug. 3.
Authorities say Spencer Hatcher‘s father, Michael, shot Walker in an act of self-defense, killing the 41-year-old intruder. His father sustained “serious injuries” in the attack, the singer said in a video statement posted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 7.
