COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS) will once again enforce a statewide curfew for sex offenders under its supervision whose crimes involved children on Halloween night, October 31.
The curfew will be in effect from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for offenders on probation, parole, or other community supervision. Those under SCDPPPS jurisdiction have been ordered to remain at home during those hours, with agents conducting home surveillance checks throughout the evening to ensure compliance.
Officials said that the curfew applies only to individuals currently under SCDPPPS supervision for crimes against children, and not to all registered sex offenders, many of whom are no longer monitored by the agency.
