STATEWIDE, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado State Patrol said troopers are getting ready for Halloween weekend DUI enforcement.

The enforcement period begins Friday and continues through Monday.

State Patrol said drivers could see sobriety checkpoints and additional officers on duty, dedicated to arresting impaired drivers.

According to troopers, 196 DUI arrests were reported during 2024’s Halloween enforcement period.

So far in 2025, CSP said there have been more than 11,000 DUI arrests across the state.

If you plan to host a party this weekend, troopers shared some suggestions to keep your guests safe:

Collect your guests’ car keys upon arrival. Encourage them to designate a sober driver or use a ride-sharing service, taxi or public transportation.
