Delaware’s top Democrats sent a letter to Gov. Matt Meyer on Oct. 28, prompting him to sanction funding to ensure First State residents continue to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits this November.
This letter comes in the wake of the U.S. Department of Agriculture informing the Department of Health and Social Services that they will not be issuing next month’s SNAP benefits – also known as food stamps – due to the ongoing government shutdown.
