NORWALK, Conn. — The driver in a deadly Norwalk pedestrian crash from July was arrested Tuesday, according to the city's police department.
Marc Owens, 56, of Norwalk, turned himself in to police and is facing charges of misconduct with a motor vehicle, distracted driving not by cell phone and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Police said they received multiple 911 calls on July 12 at 10:16 a.m., reporting a pickup truck that hit a pedestrian in the area of Connecticut Avenue. They responded to the scene along with the city's fire department and Norwalk Hospital EMS.
First responders found the pedestrian, who police identified as Josephine Pimpinella, 84, and provided emergency medical care for her serious injuries. An ambulance brought her to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died.
