On Saturday, Oct. 25, Columbia’s best-dressed Halloween aficionados took their marks to run the fourth annual Nightmare in Elmwod 5k.

Participants ran or walked a course through the historic Elmwood neighborhood, which was decked out with pumpkins, skeletons and more. Residents took to the sidewalks to cheer on runners.

“I moved into the neighborhood in 2014, and I noticed that Halloween is just a big thing in our neighborhood. When I joined the Historic Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association in 2019, I decided that we could use another fundraising event, and I had the idea to do this,” said resident and event coordinator Ebonn Twilley.
