MENTOR, Ohio — Voters will decide Nov. 4 whether to approve two Mentor rezoning proposals that would clear the way for new housing developments, part of a broader push city officials say is aimed at diversifying the community’s housing stock.

The measures, listed on the ballot as Proposed Change in Zoning No. 1 and Proposed Change in Zoning No. 2, were recommended by the Municipal Planning Commission and approved by City Council in August, but both require voter approval to take effect.

The first proposal would rezone about 12.7 acres at 8245 Deepwood Blvd. from R-4 Single-Family Residential to R-10 Multi-Family Residential. The change would permit the Deepwood Place project, a 110-unit development of two-story townhouse-style homes with attached two-car garages.
