SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- An idea came to mind for Jeff Knauss, a Central New York father, entrepreneur, and CEO of Acrovo AI, after reading stories online of families who couldn't afford to eat or feed their families now that SNAP food benefits are expected to run dry on Nov. 1st.
So he decided to craft a solution.
Knauss said the idea hit him on Monday, October 27, and by 3 a.m. the next morning, he launched a website where families could fill out a short online application for help and a GoFundMe, promising that every dollar would go straight to food support.
"I found that the cure to feeling helpless is to take action, and so, like 24 hours ago, I literally had this idea of putting together a fundraiser and donating money, just trying to get money into people's pockets," Knauss sa
