A person of interest in the stabbing death of a woman on Wilmington Island, Addison Martinez, was found earlier Tuesday at a Parker's convenience store near the Highlands and apprehended by the Savannah Police Department.

Martinez is now in the custody of the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) and is being transported for questioning.

On Monday evening, a 59-year-old woman was found stabbed to death on Wilmington Island near the 100 block of Oyster Shell Lane.

CCPD asked for the public's help in locating Martinez, the woman's son. He was believed to be driving his mother's vehicle, which was later found in a commercial parking lot in Pooler.
