LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Even though Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton grew up on the Friday night sidelines all his life as a coach’s son, it’s been different for him at various points in the year recovering from a right leg injury suffered in the opening game.

This Saturday against Kansas State (4-4, 3-2), Morton will return to lead the 13 th -ranked Red Raiders (7-1, 4-1) and will try to do what no Tech QB has done since Patrick Mahomes in 2015, which is to beat the Wildcats. Coincidentally, Graham Harrell, who was inducted into the Texas Tech Ring of Honor on Saturday, was also the last Tech QB to win on the road in Manhattan, Kan. However, Behren knows it won’t be an easy task since K-State is a much different team now than in September, when they started 1-3.
