HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A longtime member of the City of Harker Heights team is set to retire this year.
The City of Harker Heights has announced that Library Director Lisa Youngblood will retire at the end of November after 26 years with the City.
Youngblood first took over the Library Director position in October 1999, according to the City. Before her time in Harker Heights, Youngblood reportedly worked for the Waco-McLennan County Library.
The City of Harker Heights said the library's programs and offerings "blossomed" under Youngblood's leadership, with the library being recognized for its excellence across the state and winning numerous awards and distinctions.
The City said the library's biggest contribution during Youngblood's tenure was its service to the community. Youngblood
