EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Evansville Thunderbolts faced off against the Huntsville Havoc Tuesday morning at the Ford Center.

Despite the 6-2 loss, the game was a thrilling experience for the 6,852 fans, most of whom were students from schools around the Tri-State area. The event was part of Education Day with the Thunderbolts, hosting students from kindergarten through 12th grade, including those from EVSC and Henderson County.

Educational booths were set up across the concourse for students to explore.

In the game, Connor Fries opened the scoring for the Havoc with a breakaway goal, but Scott Kirton responded for Evansville with an unassisted goal. The Havoc extended their lead with three goals in the second period before Myles Abbate scored for the Thunderbolts to make it 4-2.
