MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies responded to the intersection of US 30 and Queen Road around 8:41 a.m., Tuesday, for a deadly two-vehicle crash.

Authorities say a 2000 Coleman tractor with trailer, driven by 61-year-old Nicolae Pavel, was traveling west on US 30 approaching Queen Road when witnesses say Pavel failed to stop for the red light.

Pavel struck a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 77-year-old Richard Louzon, which was traveling south across the intersection.

Louzon was pronounced dead.

Louzon's passenger, a 20-year-old Walkerton woman, was also injured and airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Share
