RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Wesley Morgan is expressing frustration over delays in his daughter’s murder case, which a judge scheduled for trial in May 2026 , more than four years after the crime.
Morgan’s daughter Jordan was killed in February 2022 when Shannon Gilday allegedly shot his way into the family’s home and shot her 11 times while she slept.
“To lose a child is the worst hurt that you can ever experience in your life,” Morgan said.
Gilday was arrested and his attorney attempted to enter a guilty but mentally ill defense within months of the shooting. However, the case has continued without resolution.
“The constitution calls for a speedy trial. We are in violation of the constitution right off the bat. This is not a speedy trial,” Morgan said.
