EASTERN KENTUCKY (WYMT) - A new state program is helping Eastern Kentucky high school students get a head start in mental and behavioral health careers.
The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education launched CLIMB 2.0, short for “Career Ladders in Mental and Behavioral Health.” The pilot program connects students at eight Eastern Kentucky high schools with local colleges, preparing them for jobs in mental and behavioral health.
“This initiative is actually a transfer pathway that allows students to seamlessly transition from high school to post-secondary education. And it allows them to be co-credentialed in a career that focuses on mental and behavioral health,” said Leslie Sizemore with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
