[WATERLOO, Iowa] — Concerns are rising as people affected by food insecurity worry about the potential halting of SNAP benefits starting on Saturday.
In a significant move to support those in need, the Iowa Pork Producers Association donated more than 9,500 pounds of ground pork to six regional food banks in Iowa and western Nebraska.
Representatives from the Iowa Pork Producers made a stop at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank on Tuesday, delivering just over 1,200 pounds of ground pork.
These donations, valued at $20,000, will help provide essential protein to thousands of Iowans in need.
